NaviFeed ("we", "us", "our") operates navifeed.com, an AI-powered trend intelligence and news analysis platform. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under applicable law including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

2. Data We Collect

Automatically collected data (server logs):

• IP address (anonymized after 30 days, used for rate limiting and abuse prevention)
• Browser type and operating system (user agent string)
• Pages visited and timestamps
• Referring URL (the page that linked you to NaviFeed)

Data you provide voluntarily:

• Name and email address if you submit our contact form — used only to respond to your inquiry
• Any questions you type into the on-page AI chatbot (processed in real time, not stored)

We do NOT collect: payment information, social security numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or any data from minors. NaviFeed has no user accounts and no registration system.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

NaviFeed uses minimal browser storage:

• Font size preference — stored in localStorage on your device only; never sent to our servers
• Session identifier — a temporary, anonymous cookie used for rate limiting; expires when your browser closes

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party marketing pixels. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required.

4. How We Use Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

NaviFeed uses the following third-party services that may process data on our behalf:

• Vercel — hosting and edge network (processes server logs)
• Supabase — database (stores anonymized article data, no personal user data)
• Anthropic (Claude API) — powers AI content generation and chatbot responses
• Pexels — stock images (image URLs only; no personal data shared)
• Google Fonts — typography (your browser may send a request to Google's servers)
• NewsAPI / GNews — source data for trend detection (no personal data shared)

Each third party operates under their own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them if you have concerns.

6. Data Retention

• Server access logs: 30 days, then deleted or anonymized
• Contact form submissions: 90 days, then deleted
• Chatbot queries: not stored beyond the immediate API call
• Article content and trend data: retained indefinitely as it constitutes the website's published content

7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate personal data
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Opt-out of sale — we do not sell data, so this right is automatically fulfilled

NaviFeed is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data including HTTPS encryption, database access controls, and rate limiting. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Transfers

NaviFeed is operated from India and hosted on Vercel's global edge network. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries. By using NaviFeed, you acknowledge this. For EU users, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards where applicable.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be noted with a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of NaviFeed after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
